• When I was choosing a makeup primer, I was puzzled by the color; it turns out every primer is different. So what should I choose? Who should I ask? Who should I find out from?

White is the most popular color, and if you choose one with a radiant effect, it's great for aging skin, helping to conceal wrinkles.

But if you have bags under your eyes, a yellow primer will come in handy.

Pink and peach colors are suitable for those with a dull complexion.

A green primer is ideal for those with rosacea (protruding blood vessels through the skin), redness, or very fair skin.

But if you have pigmentation or yellowness, a purple primer is best. It's especially useful when shooting with a flash.

Such knowledge can sometimes be difficult to keep in mind; manufacturers have now started releasing universal primers for trial, where all colors blend together when applied. I prefer generalists, although generalism isn't always better than more specialized knowledge.

I hope you found it interesting.

  • Just in for a moment. Had the most wonderful time at the stylist. Hair highlighted and brows waxed. I am showing my worst photo and my best. Worst is me in the chair with foils on. Best is me out running in a new peach/pink running outfit showing off my wonderful looking hair. Love your comments.

  • Feeling very lucky ATM...

A few weeks ago my wife was asking me what aspects of cd Im enjoying & if there's any I dislike.

Couldn't come up with anything bad per se, just that apart from her and a few people online i don't feel i can discuss things like shopping, fashion, how materials feel on etc with many people in my life.

Last weekend she secretly arranged for the kids to go to the in laws, and told me I had 36hrs to dress/shop/spend as Karla however I wanted- but she had a plan if i felt extra brave.

Taking the mystery option she told me to dress fem under a hoodie and jeans & we headed into the town centre.

Perusing the women's wear departments together she asked if I still felt brave- intrigued I said yes. She sent a text and 2 mins later her friend walked in, straight up to me & asked me if I wanted any help picking an outfit!

(For context, my wife has-by her own admission, zero fashion sense & little interest. But she had remembered my admiration for her friend's fashion sense & love of clothes)

Initially I panicked, but wife took my hand and told me to pick something to wear that evening with her friends help- the venue was my choice.

Spent a good 90mins the 3 of us looking at outfits together, initially i was nervous and worried, but with their help i picked out a cute peach bra and panties set, a pair of leather leggings, some tops and a hooded jumper dress.

Honestly after 10mins shock/worry we had a blast! When they lead me towards the changing rooms I did hesitate....never tried on & brought clothes in store before. But the sales assistant didn't bat an eye, just directed us to 3 changing rooms and asked us to say of we needed anything.

We then went for a coffee together, examined each others choices and had a laugh. Wife then asked if I wanted to head home, for a meal or 'out out'.

Her friend replied instantly, 'i want to see the look! So we went back to ours, ordered a Chinese and went through my fem wardrobe, trying several things on.

Honestly it was awesome having someone to discuss fashion & make up with (wife will talk about it, but has no passion for fashion).
Ended the evening wearing full make up & a nightdress having my nails painted, having worn almost all my outfits at one point or another, pure bliss x

  • Hullo all. Hope your weekend's been peachy. Jus chopping parsnips for roasting (I am an angel in the kitchen! *giggles*) and I find myself mulling over the path thst I have taken in my life. There were plenty of times where Ia single decision could have set me up for a very interesting ride! Blame it on Doctor who, but I wonder where some of us would be with a tweak of history? xxx
